The game isn't intended to be played as single player vs cpu, in single player mode you play against yourself, and the goal is to make the highest number of bouces.
The score is displayed separately just for aesthetic purpose, so if you see "01 23" it means that you did 123 bounces. I'm sorry if this wasn't clear enough! :)
